The Quinnipiac women's tennis team begins their busy stretch to end the season with two matches this week, opening up with Bryant on Wednesday in Smithfield, Rhode Island before hosting Niagara on Saturday for Senior Day.
All-Time Series vs. Bryant
Quinnipiac and Bryant have played six matches all-time, with the Bobcats owning the series history, 4-2. Despite owning the all-time series, Bryant won the last match between the two teams 4-3 in Hamden, Connecticut on March 22, 2014. Prior to that, Quinnipiac went 4-1 in the first five meetings including three 7-0 victories. Sophia Dzulynsky and Kelsi Oliphant are both undefeated against Bryant going 2-0.
Scouting the Bulldogs
Bryant comes into the season with a 3-5 record, including a 2-2 mark in the month of March. The Bulldogs have alternated wins and losses this month after dropping four straight matches. Last time out, the Bulldogs defeated conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-3, in Bryant. Ashanti Campfield leads the team with a 6-5 record while her five wins in dual matches also lead the team. Ryan Brown is 2-6 at No. 1 singles. In doubles play, Campfield and Nina Luiggi are 7-6, and 3-4 at No. 2. Marion Bouillin and Brown are 4-3 at No. 1 singles.
All-Time Series vs. Niagara
The Bobcats are 3-0 all-time against the Purple Eagles with all three wins coming in the past two seasons. Last season, the Bobcats edged the Purple Eagles on the road before defeating Niagara to win the 2015 MAAC Championship, 4-0, in West Windsor, New Jersey. Sydney Young won the game-winning match for the Bobcats against Niagara's new No. 1, Stella Peisakhova.
Scouting the Purple Eagles
Niagara is 7-9 this season and have won three of the past four matches, all coming against MAAC opponents. The Purple Eagles are led by Haley Hollins' 10 wins this season, going 8-8 at No. 2 singles while Peisakhova is 9-13 with a n 8-8 mark at No. 1 singles. Four players have at least eight wins this season for Niagara. Sydnee Wheeler and Hollins are 5-8 in doubles, including 4-3 at No. 2 doubles to lead the team.
Saturday Senior Salute
The Bobcats will be honoring just one senior on Saturday as Sophia Dzulynsky is the only graduating Bobcat on the team. Dzulynsky has won exactly 100 matches in her career, dating back to her freshman season at Syracuse in 2012-13. She has 94 since coming to Quinnipiac in 2013-14. As a sophomore, in her first season at Quinnipiac, Dzulynsky was named the MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Year after going 36-24. Dzulynsky also won 36 matches last season. She is a two-time All-MAAC First Team selection in doubles and a two-time All-MAAC second team selection in single play.
MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Dzulynsky was also named the MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season on March 23 after picking up six wins in Florida as part of the annual spring break trip. Dzulynsky also became the 20th player in program history to win 100 matches in a career.
The One with Six Wins
Rachel Horton also won six matches for the Bobcats over the spring break trip to Florida, including crossing the 30-win mark for the first time in her career. Horton leads the Bobcats with 32 wins this season, going 32-23 in her first full season. Horton also broke her previous career-high of 11 singles wins while in Florida, ending the week with 13 singles wins. She has won 74 matches in her career.
Proyf She's Good
Proyfon Lohaphaisan has 29 wins this season, including 17 wins at doubles. Lohaphaisan is second on the team in wins and doubles wins. In Florida, Lohphaisan was a perfect 3-0 in singles play and went 2-0 at doubles for a 5-0 record.
Jenny Lu Who
Jennifer Lu went a perfect 6-0 in Florida, including a team-best 4-0 mark in singles play in five team matches. Lu boosted her record to 22-17, including a 12-10 record in singles and 10-7 record in doubles. Lu's 12 singles wins are tied for the second most on the team.
The Young and the Restless
Sydney Young came on strong during the spring break trip to Florida with a 5-4 record, including 4-1 mark in doubles with Horton. This spring, Young has six wins including four in doubles play. In her career, Young has won 87 matches as she looks to join Dzulynsky this season in the 100-win club.
Good-rench
Sitilia Rencheli has come on strong this spring, winning 12 matches on her way to a 12-8 record. In doubles play with Dzulynsky, Rencheli has been particular strong, going 8-3. The duo went 4-1 down in Florida while Rencheli added another win in singles play. Rencheli has won 41 matches in her career.

The Bobcats will be home for a pair of matches next week when they will face the Massachusetts Minutewoman on Thursday, Apr. 7 at 3 PM and the ASA College Avengers on Saturday, Apr. 9 at 1 PM.
