SVIT, Slovakia - Former Quinnipiac men's basketball player Justin Harris (Paterson, New Jersey) will begin his professional career overseas in Slovakia, as the 6-8 forward has signed a contract with BK Iskra Svit. Terms of the contract have not been disclosed.
Harris graduated from Quinnipiac this past May after a stellar four-year career with the Bobcats. In his senior season, Harris posted career highs in points, rebounds and assists. The forward ranked fourth on the team with 8.3 points per game and second in both rebounds (6.7) and blocks (1.1) per game.
"I am thrilled for Justin Harris and his family as he begins his professional basketball career in Slovakia. He has worked very hard for this opportunity, blossoming last year as a senior," Quinnipiac men's basketball head coach Tom Moore said. "He showed great patience and loyalty during his time here, always helping us with his shooting touch, passing skills, and rebounding. Justin was a valued member of our program and will always be remembered as one of the cornerstones in helping us make such a smooth transition from the NEC to the MAAC."
Harris came up huge for the Bobcats in several games over the course of the 2014-15 season. Against Lehigh on December 18, Harris posted a double-double including 11 points and 10 rebounds. I'm grateful for the chance that I've been given and I'm looking forward to getting thigs started and furthering my career."
