
QU Women's Tennis Travels to Hartford Friday, Hosts Saint Peter's Saturday to Wrap Up Fall Season

FALL FOLIAGE
The Quinnipiac women's tennis team hits the court this weekend for their final weekend of team play in the fall season as they travel to the Hartford Hawks on Friday at 4 P.M. before quickly returning home for a Saturday afternoon match against the Saint Peter's Peacocks at 12 P.M.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Hartford is currently 3-1 on the season and riding a three match winning streak after falling in the first match of the season to Providence, 7-0. The Hawks have reeled off wins of 4-3 over Monmouth, 7-0 over Saint Peter's and 6-1 over Fairfield. The Bobcats will be the fourth straight MAAC opponent the Hawks face.
SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS
The Peacocks are 2-2 this season overall and have not started conference play prior to coming to Hamden on Saturday. Saint Peter's opened up the season with a 6-1 loss to Wagner before winning two straight matches over Daeman and La Salle, 5-2 in each. Last time out, the Peacocks faced the Hawks, falling 7-0 in their first sweeping loss of the season.
WEEKEND RECAP
Last weekend, the Quinnipiac women's tennis team went 2-1 in their first three dual matches of the season. After a tough loss to the UConn Huskies, 6-1, the Bobcats picked up a 5-2 win over Sacred Heart and 7-0 sweep of Rider to improve to 1-0 in MAAC play.
MODERN FAMILY
Sophia Dzulynsky (Miramar, Florida) surpassed Sydney Young (Austin, Texas) last weekend for the most wins on the active roster as she finished the week at 82 career victories. Over the span, Dzulynsky surpassed 50 career doubles wins to maintain her active lead in career doubles wins. This season, Dzulynsky has won seven matches as she looks to reach the 100 win mark in the spring.
FRESHMAN LEADER
With four wins at the West Point Invite, Lohaphaisan maintains her team lead in wins with 12, posting an overall record of 12-6, including 9-4 in doubles play with Horton. Lohaphaisan has won at least three matches in every tournament leading into the first week of dual match play.
THE NOTEBOOK
Rachel Horton (Stamford, Connecticut) won four matches last week for the Bobcats as the junior increased her career win total to 56 matches with a few to play in the season. With 15 wins overall and 11 in doubles, Horton is approaching some new career-highs if she continues to win at such a torrid pace. She is just three doubles wins and seven overall wins from tying her career-highs in each category.
HIGH VALUE
Of all the freshman on the team, Proyfon Lohaphaisan (Santa Clarita, California) leads the Bobcats in wins with 16 as she is 16-8 through her first 24 matches. Her 11 doubles wins with Horton put them tied for the team lead while she is in sole possession of the singles wins-high with five.
ALEX AND ANI
Alexandra Mircea (Glen Rock, New Jersey) continues to play well for the Bobcats in the No. 5 spot in the singles lineup as she has tallied 10 wins to start her career, including seven doubles wins which are tied with her doubles teammate Adrian Young (Orange Village, Ohio) for the third most on the team.
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Adrian Young continues to play well for the Bobcats, just like Mircea, tallying 10 overall wins with seven in doubles and three in singles. Young has held up the Bobcats at No. 6 singles, including cruising to an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win against Sacred Heart as the first match done in the Bobcats first victory of the season.
KEEP IT GOING
With Saint Peter's on Saturday, the Bobcats are looking to extend their MAAC winning streak to 22 matches, including their four playoff victories in the last two seasons combined. The Bobcats have not lost a conference match since joining the MAAC prior to the 2013-14 season.
ONLY AN IoTA LEFT
The Quinnipiac women's tennis team will compete in the ITA Regionals next weekend, located at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. Not all members of the team will compete, with the draws expected to be released this weekend.
