No. 15 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey resumes ECAC Hockey play this weekend when they host Dartmouth on Friday, Dec. 5 and Harvard on Saturday, Dec. 6 at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Connecticut.

THEIR LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, Quinnipiac lost to UMass, 3-2, on Friday, Nov. 28 at High Point Solutions Arena before defeating the Minutemen, 3-1, at the Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass.
• On Friday night, Alex Barron (Glendora, California) scored both of Quinnipiac's goals, while Matthew Peca (Petawawa, Ontario), Landon Smith (Greenwood Village, Colorado), Travis St. Denis (Trail, Brisith Columbia) and Bo Pieper (Roseville, Minnesota) all had assists for Quinnipiac.
• Barron became the fourth Bobcat player this season to record a multiple-goal game, joining Sam Anas (Potomac, Maryland), Landon Smith and St. Denis. He's also just the 14th defensemen in NCAA Division I hockey to post a two-goal game this season.
• Quinnipiac outshot Massachusetts, 44-24, and had another 22 shots blocked by the Minutemen - good for the second most this season by a Bobcats' opponent since UConn blocked 25 shots on Oct. 21, 2014
• On Saturday night, Head coach Rand Pecknold registered his 400th career win as the nationally-ranked No. 14 Bobcats defeated UMass, 3-1, in Amherst, Massachusetts.
• Quinnipiac freshman goalie Sean Lawrence (Granite Bay, California) picked up his first career win after stopping 17 of UMass' 18 shots on goal.
• Tim Clifton recorded the first multiple-goal game of his career while he also became the fifth Bobcat this season to post a two-goal night joining Sam Anas, Landon Smith, Alex Barron and Travis St. Denis.
SCOUTING THE DARTMOUTH BIG GREEN
Dartmouth enters the weekend with a record of 4-3-1 overall including a 2-3-1 record in ECAC Hockey play. The Big Green opened the year with just one win in their first four games, but have since won three of their last four. Dartmouth is coming off a weekend that saw that skate to a 3-2 win against American International before topping nationally-ranked No. 1 Boston University, 2-0, in Hanover, New Hampshire. Through eight games, Dartmouth has allowed 16 goals for a 2.00 per game average, good for 12th nationally, and also rank sixth on the penalty kill at 91.3% (21-of-23).
• Senior Tyler Sikura steers the Big Green's ship, leading Dartmouth in assists (7) and points (9) and headlines a trio of players averaging a point per game. Eric Robinson (4-4-8) and Brad Schierhorn (4-4-8) have each matched the other's goal production for the team lead. Robinson has also totaled three goals and three assists in six ECAC Hockey games.
• Eric Neily is the team's active career goal scorer (32) while also leading all current Dartmouth players in career games played (104). Neily has a goal and four assists to date.
• In goal, James Kruger has all but 1:33 of Dartmouth's total time in net, posting a 4-3-1 record with a 1.85 GAA and a .930 save percentage with two shutouts to his credit.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST DARTMOUTH
Quinnipiac and Dartmouth have met 22 times since their first match-up on Oct. 30, 2004. The Bobcats hold a 14-7-1 edge in the all-time series, including a commanding 10-2-0 record at home against the Big Green, including a current five-game winning streak at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center.
SCOUTING THE NO. 9 HARVARD CRIMSON
Nationally-ranked No. 9 Harvard enters the weekend with a record of 7-1-2 overall and 3-1-2 in ECAC Hockey play. The Crimson have won four straight and six of their last seven games. Last week, they defeated newly-top-ranked Boston University, 3-2 in overtime, before then defeating UMass Lowell, 4-2. Harvard has outscored their last four opponents, 14-5.
• Sophomore Alexander Kerfoot currently leads Harvard in assists (11) and points (15) and is one of our players in double figures to date.
• Junior Jimmy Vesey is Harvard's leading goal-scorer with eight in 10 games, while also assisting on six more goals for 14 points. Kyle Criscuolo (5-8-13) and Patrick McNally (4-9-13) are also averaging better than a point per game.
• In goal, Steve Michalek has played all but 46-seconds between the pipes for Harvard, logging a 7-1-2 record with a 1.57 GAA and a .947 save percentage.
ALL-TIME AGAINST HARVARD
Quinnipiac and Harvard will meet for the 22nd time on Saturday night. The Bobcats are 8-9-4 all-time against Harvard in 21 games, including a 3-2 win on Nov. 15, 2013 at High Point Solutions Arena. Quinnipiac and Harvard's first meeting dates back to the Bobcats' first ECAC Hockey game in program history at the Hartford Civic Center on Nov. 4, 2005, a 5-2 win for the Bobcats. Quinnipiac is 5-0-3 all-time against Harvard on its home ice, including a 3-0-3 record at the TD Bank Sports Center, and 2-9-1 at Harvard's Bright Hockey Center.
MR. 400
Quinnipiac head coach Rand Pecknold registered his 400th career win in the Bobcats' 3-1 victory at UMass on Saturday, Nov. 29.
• Pecknold is now one of six active NCAA Division I coaches with 400 career wins while he also becomes just the 34th in NCAA history to reach the feat.
• With the Bobcats' win in Amherst, Pecknold is now 400-252-73 all-time in his 21st season.
• He also joins legendary Quinnipiac coaches Burt Kahn, Mike Quitko and Dan Gooley as the fourth coach in Quinnipiac Athletics history to reach the 400-win mark.
• Pecknold is currently one of six active NCAA Division I head coaches with 400 wins, joining Boston College's Jerry York (970), Michigan's Red Berenson (795), Minnesota's Don Lucia (659), New Hampshire's Dick Umile (545) and Mercyhurst's Rich Gotkin (479).
POLE POSITION
Quinnipiac dropped to the No. 15 spot in this week's USCHO.com Division I poll after splitting its weekend series against UMass. The Bobcats fell to the Minutemen on Friday night at home before bouncing-back with a win in Amherst.
QUICK HITS
• The Bobcats won eight of 10 games in November while outscoring their opponents 29-17. The Bobcats scored three or more goals in a game seven times, including three games of four or more.
• The Bobcats are currently 5-1-0 in ECAC Hockey play, good for 10 points and first place in the 12-team standings.
• Quinnipiac's overtime win against St. Lawrence on Saturday, Nov. 22 was its first overtime win since Mar. 17, 2013 when the Bobcats defeated Cornell in Game 3 of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals at High Point Solutions Arena. It was also Quinnipiac's first overtime win on the road since Mar. 12, 2010 when the Bobcats took the first game of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals against Union in Schenectady, New York. That game ended in the fifth overtime and currently stands as the longest game in NCAA ice hockey history.
NOVEMBER NOTES
• For the month, Michael Garteig was 7-2-0 with a .924 save percentage and a 1.78 GAA, leading all ECAC Hockey goalies with seven wins for the month. He was one of six ECAC Hockey goalies to start six league games in November, and led all in wins (5), winning percentage (.833) and shutouts (2) while ranking second in GAA (1.33) and save percentage (.942) for the month.
• Garteig posted a six-game win streak that featured 23 saves against Northeastern, 28 in a 43 win at Union and back-to-back shutouts against Colgate and Cornell that earned him ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week honors.
• For the month, Sam Anas totaled six goals and six assists for 12 points, while also posting a +3 in 10 games played. In those 10 games, he led all ECAC Hockey skates in power-play goals (3), power-play points (6), shots (47) and shots per game (4.70).
• In six ECAC Hockey games - of which Quinnipiac was 5-1-0 - Anas led all ECAC Hockey players in goals (5), points (9), goals per game (0.83), power-play points (4)and game-winning goals (2)- one of which came in overtime at St. Lawrence. His game-tying goal in that game was also featured as one of the five top plays in NCAA hockey.
• For the month, Anas also led all ECAC Hockey players with two multiple-goal games, scoring twice against Colgate and St. Lawrence. He was also the only player in ECAC Hockey to total three or more points in a game twice in the month. Against Colgate, he added an assist to his two-goal showing for a three-point game while he also had a goal and three assists in a 4-3 win at Union.
• Additionally, in six ECAC Hockey games, Anas led all ECAC Hockey players with four third period points and also with six points in road games.
• In 10 games in November, Landon Smith led all ECAC Hockey freshmen in goals (4), assists (7), points (11), power-play goals (1), power-play assists (3), power-play points (4) and plus/minus (+6).
• In six ECAC Hockey games, Smith led all league freshmen with three assists, as well as total shots (20).
• Smith had a career-high three points (2g,1a) in a win against Northeatern, while also scoring in a 5-0 win against Colgate and a 4-3 win at Union. Smith also had an assist in a 3-1 win at RPI and also had two assists in a 3-2 overtime win at St. Lawrence. Smith also earned ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 4.
THE BOBCATS IN ECAC HOCKEY
• Quinnipiac currently features three of the top 10 goals scorers in ECAC Hockey: Anas (10), Travis St. Denis and Landon Smith (6).
• Sam Anas is the only player in ECAC Hockey with a double-digit goal total to date. He is also one of five in NCAA Division I hockey.
• Anas leads all ECAC Hockey players in first period goals (3), overtime goals (1), power play goals (6), goals at home (5), goals when trailing (4), game-winning goals (3), and two-goal games (3).
• Matthew Peca is currently tied for third in ECAC Hockey in total assists (11) and is one of seven players in the league to reach double-digit assists to date.
• Peca leads all ECAC Hockey players in face-offs won (223) and total face-offs (398).
• Peca also leads ECAC Hockey with eight assists when the Bobcats are trailing.
• Landon Smith currently leads all ECAC Hockey freshman in points (15) and assists (9), as well as power-play goals (2), power-play assists (4) and power-play points (6).
•Smith also leads all ECAC Hockey freshman in two-goal games (2).
• Smith is also one of four freshmen in NCAA Division I men's ice hockey to average a point per game or higher to date. He joins Boston University's Jack Eichel (1.62), Denver's Danton Heinen (1.18) and Robert Morris' Brady Ferguson (1.09).
• Smith's 1.07 points per game leads all ECAC Hockey freshmen and makes him the only first-year player in the league to average a point per game to date.
• Andrew Taverner's three goals this season rank fifth among ECAC Hockey freshmen.
ECAC HOCKEY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Bobcats' freshman goalie Sean Lawrence (Granite Bay, California) was named the ECAC Hockey Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
• Lawrence picked up his first-career win after turning back 17 of UMass 18 shots-on-goal in the Bobcats 3-1 win Saturday, Nov. 29.
• Lawrence was the only freshman goalie in ECAC Hockey to start a game this weekend, and one of 13 nationally. His 1.000% winning percentage led all NCAA Division I freshmen goalies for the weekend, while his .944 save percentage and his 1.00 goals-against average were national highs.
• Lawrence is the second Quinnipiac freshmen honored with a weekly honor this season, as classmate Landon Smith (Greenwood Village, Colorado) was named the Rookie of the Week on Nov. 4.
ECAC HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quinnipiac men's ice hockey junior Travis St. Denis (Trail, British Columbia) was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
GAME-WINNER
St. Denis is the only skater in ECAC Hockey to score two game-winning goals in the same weekend after doing so against Union and RPI.
CHECK THE NUMBERS
For the year, St. Denis has six goals and two assists for eight points in 11 games.
All-Time At High Point Solutions ArenaEntering this weekend, Quinnipiac is 95-43-18 in 156 games at High Point Solutions at the TD Bank Sports Center since its first game on Jan. 28, 2007.
MAD HATTER
Against RPI, Travis St. Denis scored three times for the fourth Hat Trick in ECAC Hockey this season, and the 19th in NCAA Division I men's ice hockey. It was also Quininpiac's 28th hat trick in program history.
QUINNIPIAC'S LAST HAT TRICK
Before St. Denis' three-goal outing at RPI, the last hat trick by a Quinnipiac player was by Matthew Peca in the NCAA Division I Regional Championship Game against Union on Mar. 31, 2013.
ECAC HOCKEY GOALIE OF THE WEEK
Quinnipiac men's ice hockey junior Michael Garteig (Prince George, British Columbia) was named the ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 11, as announced by the league office.
ADD IT TO THE TROPHY CASE
The honor was Garteig's sixth of his career after grabbing ECAC Hockey weekly honors five times as the Bobcats' starting goalie in 2013-14. No other player since Quinnipiac joined the league in 2005-06 has earned as many weekly honors in a single season. He was also earned monthly honors twice last season. Garteig was also selected as NCAA Ice Hockey's "First Star" for that week.
GREAT WEEKEND
On Nov. 7-8, Garteig racked-up back-to-back shutouts for the second time in his career, posting a 19-save performance against Colgate on Friday before turning back all 18 Cornell shots-on-goal on the following night.
CLEAN SHEETS
Garteig now has eight shutouts for his career, and is one of nine NCAA Division I men's ice hockey goalies with multiple clean-sheets this season.
RACKING UP THOSE MINUTES
Garteig's shutout streak stood at 149 minutes - the fourth longest in program history.
PECA'S NUMBERS ALL-TIME
Senior co-captain Matthew Peca now stands at 36 goals and 83 assists for 119 points in 130 career games.
