
Volleyball Defeated By Rhode Island, 3-0

HAVEN, Conn. - Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) had a match-high
16 digs, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated
by the University of Rhode Island, 3-0, in the opening round of the
Yale Invitational Friday evening at Payne Whitney Gym. With the
loss, the Bobcats fall to 0-4, while the Rams improve to
2-2.
The Rams took the first set, 25-20, and improved their cushion by two points in each of the following sets, winning 25-18 and 25-16 in the second and third sets, respectively.
Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) had a team-high seven kills, while Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) added six kills. Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) had 16 assists.
The Bobcats return to Yale Invitational action Saturday, when they face the host Bulldogs at 1 p.m. They'll then face Stony Brook to conclude the day at 5 p.m.
