HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team dropped both games of a midweek doubleheader to Fairfield on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One
Fairfield struck first in the third inning, plating four runs on a sacrifice fly and back-to-back hits.

The Bobcats broke through in the sixth when Sofia Vega delivered an RBI single, her 16th of the season, to get QU on the board.

The Stags answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning.

Quinnipiac added another run in the seventh but were unable to complete the comeback.

Game Two
After two scoreless innings, the Bobcats opened the scoring in the third. Kennedy DeMott delivered an RBI single, marking the third time in four games she has driven in the Bobcats' first run.

Ally Hochstadter added an RBI single before another run scored on a Fairfield throwing error to give Quinnipiac a 4-0 lead.

Fairfield responded with two runs in the fourth to cut the deficit in half before scoring four more in the fifth to take the lead and complete the doubleheader sweep.
