The Bobcats wasted no time getting on the board, as Mary Fogg led off with a single before Kennedy DeMott followed with an RBI double, her ninth of the season, to give QU an early lead.

Riley Potter drove in Fogg with an RBI single in the third to double the lead, and Noelle Reid followed with her first collegiate home run to make it 3-0.

After a 2.5-hour weather delay, the Bobcats picked up right where they left off. DeMott stayed hot at the plate, launching a two-run home run in the sixth, while Kinsley Cox added an RBI groundout to extend the lead to 6-0.

Mount St. Mary's cut the deficit with a three-run home run in the seventh, but the Bobcats held on to secure the series-opening win.
Shannon Kendall delivered a strong performance in the circle, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out one to earn her 13th win of the season.
