With the split in the doubleheader on Friday, the Bobcats' record now sits at 15-21 overall and 8-9 in MAAC play, which has them in a three-way tie for eighth place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One
The hosts got on the board first in the opening inning, striking for two runs to take an early lead in the series opener.
Quinnipiac got on the board in the third inning as Christian Smith singled home Cole Constable to get the Bobcats within two runs. Canisius struck for two runs in their half of the inning to push the lead to 5-1.
Chase Camac got the Bobcats back within three as he singled home Jack Balcer with Quinnipiac's second run of the game.
The Golden Griffins plated another pair in the sixth inning to push their lead back to five as they led 7-2 through six innings of play.
The Bobcats put another run on the board in the eighth inning as Alex Irizarry flew out to right field, allowing Chase Camac to score with QU's third run of the game. Canisius put up a three-spot in their half of the eighth to go up 10-3.
Game Two
The Bobcats got on the board first in the second game of the doubleheader as James Marino came home to score on an Ian Nilsen groundout.
The game was locked at 1-0 until the sixth inning, when the Bobcats came up to bat. With the bases loaded, James Marino put the ball in play to reach on a fielder's choice, while Kyle Garbowski came home with Quinnipiac's second run of the game.
In the seventh inning, the Bobcats were looking for insurance and got exactly that. Ian Nilsen came home to score on a Kyle Garbowski sacrifice fly, giving Quinnipiac a three-run lead.
After six strong innings from Andrew Rubayo, Mike Poncini, and Matt Alduino combined for the final nine outs to even the series at one game apiece.
NEWS AND NOTES
- Six Bobcats recorded hits in game one of the doubleheader, and five Bobcats recorded at least one hit in game two win over Canisius.
- Kyle Garbowski and Christian Smith both went 4-for-9 (.444) with an RBI in the doubleheader.
- Garbowski ranks third on the team with a .295 batting average, while Smith is fourth on the team with a .288 average.
- Since returning to the lineup on March 18th, Smith is hitting .333 with 16 RBIs and twelve doubles.

- Andrew Rubayo got the ball in game two and went 6.0 innings, allowing no runs on four hits and striking out eight.
- Mike Poncini pitched the next 2.0 innings, striking out one, while not allowing a run or a hit.
- Matt Alduino recorded his fifth save of the season as he pitched the bottom of the ninth and did not allow a baserunner.
