HAMDEN, Conn – The No. 7/8 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team will make its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance next weekend in Madison, earning an automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Tournament, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday morning.
Wisconsin will host Quinnipiac and Franklin Pierce on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. CT. The winner will advance to face the Badgers on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. CT.
The Bobcats secured their second ECAC championship in program history on Saturday, Mar. 7, their first title since the 2015-16 season under head coach Cassandra Turner.
This marks the second NCAA Tournament appearance for Quinnipiac in the past four seasons. In 2022-23, the Bobcats defeated Penn State 3-2 in triple overtime before falling to Ohio State 5-2.
Wisconsin holds an 8-1-1 all-time record against Quinnipiac. It would mark the first postseason meeting between the two programs if the Bobcats advance. The teams last met during the 2021-22 season at LaBahn Arena, where Quinnipiac went 1-0-1 in the two-game series.
Quinnipiac will face Franklin Pierce for the first time in program history. The Ravens captured the NEWHA championship on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Saint Anselm.
The 2026 NCAA Women's Frozen Four will be held March 20 and 22 at Pegula Arena in University Park, Pa.
