Women’s Ice Hockey Celebrates 25-Year Anniversary, Alumni Game on Oct. 17

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey program has officially launched its 25th Anniversary Celebration campaign, marking a milestone anniversary for the university's inaugural athletic program.
Since 2001-02, Quinnipiac women's ice hockey has been an integral part of the Quinnipiac University and greater Hamden community. Now a Division I program with two ECAC Championships, five NCAA Tournament appearances, PWHL Walter Cup champion alumnae, and national recognition across the hockey landscape, the Bobcats will celebrate 25 years of varsity competition throughout the 2026-27 campaign, which begins Sept. 25. Quinnipiac opens its home schedule on Oct. 2, welcoming Providence to M&T Bank Arena for a home-and-home series.
The season-long celebration will feature exclusive giveaways, social media campaigns, and game promotions highlighting the different eras of the Bobcat program. The campaign will engage alumnae, current student-athletes, and fans of all ages as the program celebrates 25 years of history, tradition, and excellence.
25th Anniversary Campaign Highlights & Alumnae Engagement
- Alumnae Day: The Bobcats will welcome back all former student-athletes to Hamden on Oct. 17, 2026, for Alumni Day as QU takes on Northeastern. The celebration will also include a banner raising and postgame ring ceremony for the 2026 ECAC Championship team.
- Social Media Campaign & Fan Giveaways: A dedicated season-long campaign will spotlight iconic moments, players, and teams from the past 25 years on social media. Fans and alumni of all ages can look forward to exclusive anniversary giveaways throughout the season.
- Alumnae Submissions: All former women's ice hockey players are encouraged to contribute to the celebration by submitting personal photos, videos and memories from their time with the program. Former players can submit content via the OFFICIAL PORTAL.
