Demott’s Two-Run Homer Lifts Bobcats to First MAAC Win

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Quinnipiac softball team opened MAAC play with a 5-4 win over Saint Peter's on Saturday afternoon, moving to 5-5 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Kennedy Demott continued her hot start at the plate, launching a two-run home run in the top of the first.
Saint Peter's responded in the bottom of the second, taking a 3-2 lead after a single from Angela Tremarco and a two-run homer by Paige Seemon.
The Bobcats answered in the third on a sac fly by Ally Hochstadter that brought home Sofia Vega and Mary Fogg.
A fielding error by the Peacocks later allowed Mac Davis to score to extend Quinnipiac's lead to 5-3.
Saint Peter's added one more run on an RBI single, but the Bobcats held on to secure their fifth win of the season.
Shannon Kendall earned her fourth win of the year, pitching 4.2 innings while allowing four earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.
First-year Jasmine Kline closed out the game in relief, tossing 2.1 hitless innings with four strikeouts to record her first save of the season.
