HOW IT HAPPENED
Rhode Island got on the board first in the second inning, scoring four runs on three hits in the inning.
Caden Williamson got Quinnipiac on the board in the third inning, launching his first collegiate home run on a blast over the left field wall.
After taking a 4-1 lead into the sixth inning, the Rams' offense exploded for seven runs in the inning as they opened an 11-1 lead on the Bobcats. Rhode Island would tack on another run in the next inning, taking an eleven-run lead.
The game stayed 12-1 as they went to the final inning. Rhode Island was able to score five runs to open the ninth inning. Quinnipiac got four runs in the bottom of the inning. Christian Smith got the scoring started in the inning, launching a two-run home run over the left-field wall. Matt Park drove in the fourth run of the game for the Bobcats as he hit an RBI double to the right-center field gap. Later in the inning, Peyton Vancas came home to score on a wild pitch for the fourth run of the inning. That was all the Bobcats got in the inning, as the Rams defeated the Bobcats, 17-5.
