
Bobcats Split Day Two at Battle of the Bay

NORFOLK, VA. – The Quinnipiac softball team split day two at Battle of the Bay, defeating Stony Brook 7-2 before dropping to host Norfolk State 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One
The Bobcats struck early with back-to-back RBI doubles from Kennedy Demott and Aryn Bombery in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Stony Brook answered with a run in the bottom of the frame and later tied the game in the fifth.
Quinnipiac responded in the sixth, scoring four unanswered runs to maintain control. First-year Kinsley Cox highlighted the inning with her first collegiate two-run double.
Shannon Kendall earned her third win of the season, tossing a complete game while allowing two hits and two earned runs with two strikeouts.
Game Two
Norfolk State jumped ahead in the first inning with four runs, fueled by a double, a two-run home run and an RBI single. The Spartans added two more in the fourth to extend their lead.
Quinnipiac's lone run came in the second when Sofia Vega delivered an RBI single to score Mac Davis. Laney Adie came in relief, pitching six innings and striking out six.
