FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sofia Vega hit her fourth homer of the season to lift the Bobcats over Sacred Heart in game three of their MAAC series to win 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
After two scoreless innings, Sacred Heart struck first with a run in the third. The Bobcats responded in the top of the seventh, as Noelle Reid reached on a fielder's choice bunt. Brooke Hillard followed with a single to right field, moving Reid to second. Vega then delivered the big hit, crushing a home run to give Quinnipiac the lead.
Sacred Heart added one run in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Bobcats' late surge.
