Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team heads back on the road as they head to New Jersey for a pair of matches. The Bobcats will head to Lawrenceville to take on the Rider Broncs to start their weekend on Friday, October 10th, with the first serve slated for 6 PM.
QU will turn around and head to Jersey City on Saturday afternoon to face the Saint Peter's Peacocks with a 1 PM start time from the Yanitelli Center.

LOOKING AHEAD
- Quinnipiac will head to New York next weekend (Oct. 17-18) to take on the Siena Saints and Marist Red Foxes.
- After two weeks on the road, the Bobcats will return to Burt Kahn to take on Fairfield (Oct. 24) and Sacred Heart (Oct. 25).
- The Bobcats are home for seven straight games after their trip to New York before wrapping up the regular season in Western New York (Nov. 14-15).
LOOKING BACK
- The Bobcats split their opening weekend, defeating the Canisius Golden Griffins (3-1) on Saturday, but falling to Niagara (3-1) on Sunday.
- In the win over Canisius in the home opener, Elena Giacomini recorded 31 kills, which tied her career high for kills in a match. Giacomini also recorded nine digs and two aces in the win.
- Giacomini led the Bobcats in kills in the four-set loss to Niagara with 18. Giacomini has led the Bobcats in fourteen of the seventeen matches so far this season.
2024 SEASON REWIND
- The Bobcats finished the season with 19 wins, including a five-game winning streak to close out the regular season.
- The Bobcats finished 15-3 in MAAC play, which locked them into the No. 2 seed for the 2024 MAAC Championships.
- QU defeated No. 3 Rider, 3-1, in the MAAC Semifinals to punch their ticket to the title game.
- Quinnipiac ultimately fell in four sets to in-state rival Fairfield as their season came to an end.
PRESEASON ACCOLADES
- Quinnipiac women's volleyball was selected to finish second in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on August 20th.
- Elena Giacomini was named the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year after winning the MAAC Player of the Year award last season.
- Along with Giacomini being named to the All-MAAC Preseason team, Ginevra Giovagnoni and Damla Gunes also earned those honors.
HEAD COACH KYLE ROBINSON
- Head Coach Kyle Robinson enters his seventh season with the Bobcats in 2025. Robinson currently has an 82-81 (.503) record in his tenure in Hamden, including this season's matches.
- Robinson is 226-164 over his career as a collegiate head coach (7 seasons at LIU before QU).
- Robinson has firmly cemented himself as one of the premier college coaches in the NCAA's highest division. He effectively etched his signature on Quinnipiac volleyball by becoming the first head coach in program history to lead the program to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2022.
STRONG RETURNING GROUP
- The Bobcats return 10 members who were on the squad last season.
- Among those returners are Elena Giacomini, last season's MAAC Player of the Year and this season's Preseason Player of the Year, Damla Gunes, the two-time MAAC Setter of the Year, Ginevra Giovagnoni, last season's Preseason Player of the Year, and Yagmur Gunes, who was named to the 2024 MAAC All-Tournament team.
THE '25 MAAC SCHEDULE
- After competing in four non-conference tournaments, the Bobcats open MAAC Play on September 26th in Fairfield, Connecticut, against the Sacred Heart Pioneers.
- The Bobcats face the reigning MAAC Champions, Fairfield, on September 27th on the road for a rematch of last year's title game.
- Quinnipiac's first home weekend is October 3-4 as they welcome Canisius and Niagara to Burt Kahn Court.
- After a four-game road trip, the Bobcats return to Quinnipiac for a seven-game homestand, which kicks off on October 24th against Fairfield.
- The Bobcats' final regular season weekend will be spent in Western New York against Niagara and Canisius (Nov. 14-15).
- The 2025 MAAC Women's Volleyball Championship will begin on Tuesday, November 18th with the first-round contests.
