Eschoyez, Quaile Find Net as Bobcats Defeat Seahawks
10/5/2025 2:49:00 PM | Field Hockey
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Mo Quaile started the scoring for the Quinnipiac University field hockey team and Francisca Eschoyez provided much needed insurance, as the Bobcats knocked off Wagner 2-1 on Sunday afternoon on Staten Island.
The Bobcats survived a late push from the Seahawks that required back to back saves from Cristina Torres and a late penalty corner in the final three minutes but Quinnipiac was able to hold onto its lead.
Quaile scored in the final seconds of the first quarter, deflecting home a point shot from Lucia Donati to give Quinnipiac a lead it wouldn't relinquish.
Eschoyez provided the second, and what proved to be game-winning, goal in the third with an unassisted tally at the 2:18 mark of the frame to make it 2-0.
Wagner scored 71 seconds into the fourth but could not find an equalizer.
The Bobcats put 12 shots on frame as part of 19 total and Torres finished the day with five saves to her credit.

UP NEXT
The Bobcats will head back on the road on Friday, taking on Providence at 3 p.m. in Rhode Island. Their next home contest will be on Sunday the 12th when they host Lafayette.
