HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Field Hockey team was selected to finish second in the 2026 NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Friday, Aug. 7.
Quinnipiac received a league-high five first-place votes. Wagner earned three first-place votes and was picked to finish first after advancing to the NEC Championship last season. Sacred Heart was selected third and received one first-place vote, while Rider rounded out the top four.
The Bobcats return to the NEC as an associate member, previously competing as a full-time member from 1998-2013. During that time, Quinnipiac won the inaugural NEC Field Hockey Tournament in 1999 and went on to claim three tournament championships and four regular-season titles.
Head coach Nina Klein guided the Bobcats to a 10-8 record last season, marking the program's first 10-win campaign since 2013.
The Bobcats open the 2026 season at home against Bryant on Aug. 28. Game time is set for 3 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium.
