LOOKING AHEAD
- The Bobcats will remain home for the next two weekends, hosting Iona (Oct. 31) and Manhattan (Nov. 1) this weekend and Saint Peter's (Nov. 7) and Rider (Nov. 8) the following weekend.
- After they close out on their home schedule, the Bobcats head to Western New York to face Niagara (Nov. 14) and Canisius (Nov. 15) to close out the regular season.
LOOKING BACK
- Over the weekend, the Bobcats swept the Fairfield Stags and defeated the Sacred Heart Pioneers in four sets to extend their win streak to six.
- In the sweep over the Stags, Ginevra Giovagnoni led the way, recording 15 kills and ten digs in her first start of the season. Giovagnoni registered her first double-double of the year as she led the Bobcats to the win.
- On Saturday against Sacred Heart, Yagmur Gunes paced the attack, recording 20 kills in the four-set win. Gunes has reached double-digit kills in 17 matches this season.
WEEKLY AWARDS
- Yagmur Gunes and Damla Gunes both took home weekly awards last week, announced by the league office on October 21st.
- Yagmur Gunes was named the MAAC Co-Player of the Week, while Damla Gunes was named the MAAC Setter of the Week.
2024 SEASON REWIND
- The Bobcats finished the season with 19 wins, including a five-game winning streak to close out the regular season.
- The Bobcats finished 15-3 in MAAC play, which locked them into the No. 2 seed for the 2024 MAAC Championships.
- QU defeated No. 3 Rider, 3-1, in the MAAC Semifinals to punch their ticket to the title game.
- Quinnipiac ultimately fell in four sets to in-state rival Fairfield as their season came to an end.
PRESEASON ACCOLADES
- Quinnipiac women's volleyball was selected to finish second in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on August 20th.
- Elena Giacomini was named the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year after winning the MAAC Player of the Year award last season.
- Along with Giacomini being named to the All-MAAC Preseason team, Ginevra Giovagnoni and Damla Gunes also earned those honors.
HEAD COACH KYLE ROBINSON
- Head Coach Kyle Robinson enters his seventh season with the Bobcats in 2025. Robinson currently has an 82-81 (.503) record in his tenure in Hamden, including this season's matches.
- Robinson is 226-164 over his career as a collegiate head coach (7 seasons at LIU before QU).
- Robinson has firmly cemented himself as one of the premier college coaches in the NCAA's highest division. He effectively etched his signature on Quinnipiac volleyball by becoming the first head coach in program history to lead the program to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2022.
STRONG RETURNING GROUP
- The Bobcats return 10 members who were on the squad last season.
- Among those returners are Elena Giacomini, last season's MAAC Player of the Year and this season's Preseason Player of the Year, Damla Gunes, the two-time MAAC Setter of the Year, Ginevra Giovagnoni, last season's Preseason Player of the Year, and Yagmur Gunes, who was named to the 2024 MAAC All-Tournament team.
THE '25 MAAC SCHEDULE
- After competing in four non-conference tournaments, the Bobcats open MAAC Play on September 26th in Fairfield, Connecticut, against the Sacred Heart Pioneers.
- The Bobcats face the reigning MAAC Champions, Fairfield, on September 27th on the road for a rematch of last year's title game.
- Quinnipiac's first home weekend is October 3-4 as they welcome Canisius and Niagara to Burt Kahn Court.
- After a four-game road trip, the Bobcats return to Quinnipiac for a seven-game homestand, which kicks off on October 24th against Fairfield.
- The Bobcats' final regular season weekend will be spent in Western New York against Niagara and Canisius (Nov. 14-15).
- The 2025 MAAC Women's Volleyball Championship will begin on Tuesday, November 18th with the first-round contests.
