
Chard Gets First Collegiate Hit And RBI In Win Over NJIT

The Bobcats will improve to 11-21 on the season, while the Highlanders will fall to 12-19 overall on the season.

The Bobcats scored the game's first run as CJ Willis singled up the middle to score Keegan O'Connor from second.

NJIT got the run back in the top of the third inning as Longo reached on an error and allowed Soldra to score and even the game at one.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Quinnipiac got two runs to take a 3-1 lead. Spencer Chard recorded his first collegiate hit and RBI as he drove home Proctor with an RBI double. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded, Keegan O'Connor drew a walk to allow Chard to come home with the second run of the inning.

Quinnipiac added on another run in the bottom of the fifth inning as Dominick Proctor grounded out to short but allowed Gabe Wright to cross the plate. In the bottom of the seventh inning, it was Proctor again who dropped down a sacrifice bunt and allowed CJ Willis to score the fifth run of the game for the Bobcats.
Andrew Rubayo was in to pitch in the ninth inning when NJIT threatened to make a comeback. Campbell led off the inning with a solo home run to right field before Ladehoff singled up the middle to score Francis to bring the Highlanders within two. After Choi singled, Rubayo got Longo to ground into a game-ending double play to seal the win.
