QU Falls To William & Mary, 15-3

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Quinnipiac baseball team dropped the middle game of the three-game set, 15-3, to William & Mary on Saturday, March 16th.
The Bobcats will go to 5-10 to start the 2024 season, while William & Mary will improve to 13-6 in the campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Gabe Wright got the scoring started in the top of the first inning as he doubled down the left field line to score Keegan O'Connor from first.
The Tribe would get the run right back in the bottom half of the inning from a SAC fly and the teams went into the fourth inning tied at one.
William & Mary would strike four six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 7-1 lead. Two runs came in on an RBI double to center before tacking on another one via a single to right. A wild pitch later and with the bases loaded, a single to center field would bring in their fifth run of the inning. The final run of the inning came from an RBI ground out to third.
The Tribe would score three more runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to give them a 13-1 lead with three innings to go.
An error by the Tribe defense in the eighth inning would allow to Bobcats to score to make it a 13-3 ballgame. William & Mary would score two unearned runs in the bottom of the half to extend the lead back to twelve.
