LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Quinnipiac baseball team dropped the season finale to the Liberty Flames, 10-5, on Sunday afternoon.

The Bobcats will fall to 0-3 early in the 2024 season, while Liberty will improve to 3-0 on the campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Liberty scratched off the game's first two runs off an RBI groundout and a single through the right side.

Matt DeRosa scored on a Gabe Wright sac fly to get the Bobcats on the board in the third inning.

In the top of the fourth inning, Kyle Garbowski blasted his first collegiate home run down the right field line to give the Bobcats a 4-2 lead.

After Liberty tied the game on a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth, Keegan O'Connor singled home Gabe Wright to retake the lead in the 7^th inning.

Liberty would go on to score six runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 10-7 lead

Five different Bobcats recorded hits in the effort.
Kyle Garbowski launched his first collegiate home run with his three-run blast in the fourth inning.
Keegan O'Connor went 1-for-4 with an RBI single.
Gabe Wright went 1-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored.
Sean Swenson and Matt DeRosa both notched hits in the loss.
Aaron Zenus got the start and recorded five strikeouts in 3.2 innings pitched.
Jack Kabel pitched 1.2 scoreless innings and struck out three batters.
Ryan Hutchinson pitched 0.2 innings and struck out two.
