LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Quinnipiac baseball team dropped the middle game of the series to the Liberty Flames, 16-7, on Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats will fall to 0-2 early in the 2024 season, while Liberty will improve to 2-0 on the campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Liberty scored three runs in both the first and second inning before adding a seventh run in the third.

Braydon Seaburg drove him the Bobcats' first runs of the season on a single up the middle of the diamond in the fourth inning.

Liberty would get a run back in the bottom half of the inning. Jared Zimbardo would score on an RBI groundout from Matt DeRosa to make it an 8-3 game.

The Flames would score the game's next seven runs until Quinnipiac stepped up to bat in the ninth. Gabe Wright would single to second base and score Christian Smith from third.

Christopher Willis would blast his first home run as a Bobcat with a three-run homer over the right center field fence.

Five different Bobcats recorded hits in the effort.
Gabe Wright went 2-for-3 with two walks and drove in one run.
Christopher Willis went 1-for-4 and launched his first home run as a Bobcat with a three-run homer in the top of the ninth.
Braydon Seaburg went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs from the cleanup spot.
Jared Zimbardo and Kyle Garbowski would pick up a hit each in the contest.
Brett Leighton recorded one strikeout in 1.1 innings pitched in relief.
