Peralta and Uchida Lead Bobcats' Group at Palm Beach Regional

WEST PALM GARDENS, Fla. – Quinnipiac women's golf shot a 315 (+27) to open play at the Palm Beach Regional held at the PGA National Resort Monday afternoon.
Quinnipiac sits in 12th place after scoring 315 (+27) in the opening round, 17 strokes behind the fifth-place cut-off line for the NCAA Championship. Michigan State leads the field at 285 (-3), 11 strokes ahead of second-place South Florida (296; +8).
Leeyen Peralta and Aimee Uchida lead Quinnipiac's grouping in the first round with scores of 77 (+5) to tie for 34th place. Starting at the 10th tee, Peralta shot for par on 14 of the 18 holes, including a stretch of 10 pars through her first 10 holes.
Uchida led Quinnipiac with three birdies on the afternoon. The junior picked up her play on her back nine, picking up two birdies and five pars on the stretch to close her day.
Meg Yoshida (T-59th) and Kaylee Sakoda (T-61) rounded out Quinnipiac's team scoring, shooting 80 (+8) and 81 (+9), respectively. Fuge Zhang wrapped up the Bobcat scores, as she sits in 65th after scoring 82 (+10) in the first round.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Tuesday, May 9, when they continue play at the Palm Beach Regional.
