
Bobcats Extend Season With 7-6 Victory Over Canisius

With the win, the Bobcats improve to 30-25 on the season, tying the program record for most wins in a single season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Canisius struck first, plating two runs in the second inning to take an early 2-0 lead. However, the Bobcats rallied for two runs in the top of the fourth to knot the contest at 2-2.
After Jared Zimbardo led the inning off with a single, three batters later, Sean Swenson lined a double to left to plate Zimbardo to put the Bobcats on the board with two outs in the frame. McGwire Tuffy immediately followed with an RBI single of his own to tie the contest at 2-2 in the fourth.
However, Canisius scored a run in the bottom of the frame to take a 3-2 lead.
With two outs in the sixth, Matt DeRosa lined a single to the outfield before coming around to score on an RBI double from Kyle Maves to tie the contest at 3.
Immediately after, Anthony Donofrio came through with an RBI bloop single to give Quinnipiac a 4-3 advantage.
However, Canisius responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 5-4 lead.
Quinnipiac did not go away quietly, tallying three runs in the frame, all with two outs. With the bases loaded, DeRosa drew a walk to score a run, tying the game at 5-5. Maves drew a walk immediately after then Donofrio reached on an error to give Quinnipiac a 7-5 lead before the Golden Griffins cut it to 7-6 in the bottom of the inning.
Quinnipiac held Canisius scoreless in the eighth as Andrew Cubberly retired the side in order to get the Bobcats to the ninth clutching a one-run lead.
