POMONA, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac baseball team's season came to an end in the MAAC Semifinals with a 12-4 loss against No. 1 Fairfield inside Clover Stadium on Friday evening. With the loss, the Bobcats end their season with 30 wins, tying the single-season program record previously set in 2019.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Fairfield struck first, scoring two runs in the opening inning to jump out to an early 2-0 advantage. However, the Bobcats responded with a run of their own in the following inning. With two outs in the second, Sean Swenson barreled a single to the outfield and then advanced on a wild pitch. McGwire Tuffy followed with an RBI single down the leftfield line to trim the deficit to 2-1.

The Stags responded with four runs of their own in the bottom of the second to extend their lead to 6-1. Fairfield added to the lead in the fourth with three more runs to push their lead to 9-1.

Trailing 10-2 in the eighth, Keegan O'Connor belted a two-run double to left to trim the deficit to 10-4.

However, the deficit proved to be too much for the Bobcats, as they came up short in the 12-4 defeat.
