
Bobcats Clinch MAAC Championship Berth With Win Over Siena

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Led by a homer and three RBIs apiece from Braydon Seaburg and Sebastian Mueller, the Quinnipiac baseball team opened its weekend series with a 10-1 victory over MAAC foe Siena Friday afternoon at Connor's Park.
With the win, the Bobcats improved 26-24 overall on the season and 14-8 in the MAAC, while the Saints fell to 14-39 on the 2023 campaign and 7-15 in the MAAC with the loss.
With the victory, the Bobcats have clinched a berth into the MAAC Championship next week for the first time since the 2019 season. That season, the Bobcats won three consecutive games to win the MAAC Championship, earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Regionals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Siena struck first for a run in the bottom of the second before Quinnipiac responded with five runs of their own in the fourth inning. With two runners on, Braydon Seaburg pulled a three-run homer over the right field fence to give the Bobcats a 3-1 lead. Later in the inning, McGwire Tuffy lined a two-run double down the right-field line to extend the lead to 5-1.
Leading 6-1 entering the eighth, Sean Swenson smoked a solo homer over the left field fence to give Quinnipiac a comfortable 7-1 lead. The following inning, Sebastian Mueller hit a two-run bomb of his push the lead to 9-1.
The deficit proved to be too much for the Saints, as the Bobcats held on for the eventual 10-1 victory.
