SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Quinnipiac baseball team came up short on the road against non-conference foe Bryant, 15-14, in extra innings Tuesday afternoon at Conaty Park.

With the loss, the Bobcats improved to 15-22 overall on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 20-16 on the 2023 campaign with the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Bobcats took their first lead of the day with two runs in the third inning. Anthony Donofrio lined an RBI double to right center then later scored on an error to give QU a 2-1 lead.

Later in the contest with the Bobcats trailing 7-3, Quinnipiac responded with six runs of its own in the fifth inning. QU opened the scoring with a two-run homer from Keegan O'Connor to trim the deficit to two runs. After tying the score at 7-7, Jared Zimbardo came through with an RBI single to give the Bobcats an 8-7 lead.

Leading 9-7 in the sixth, Sean Swenson smoked a two-run homer to left-center to give the Bobcats an 11-7 advantage, before a Braydon Seaburg triple made it 12-9 in the eighth. However, the Bulldogs clawed back tying the contest at 13-13 to force extra innings.

Quinnipiac regained the lead after Swenson hit a solo homer to center, but Bryant walked it off in the bottom of the 10th off a two-run double.
