BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac baseball team was unable to overcome a deficit, as the Bobcats came up short, 15-9, Saturday afternoon at the Demske Sports Complex.

With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 14-21 overall on the season and 7-7 in the MAAC, while the Golden Griffins improved to 15-17 on the 2023 campaign and 9-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Griffins struck first for nine runs over the first three innings to take a 9-0 lead. Trailing 9-1 in the fourth, Braydon Seaburg hit a two-run homer to trim the deficit to 9-3.

Trailing 10-3 in the sixth, Keegan O'Connor and Sean Swenson both hit solo homers to cut into the Canisius lead, 10-5. However, the Golden Griffins responded with five runs of their own to extend their lead to 15-5.

Anthony Donofrio was able to muscle a two-run homer to right-center in the eighth, but it wasn't enough, as Canisius held on for the 15-9 win.

Anthony Donofrio led the offense with four hits, including a homer, a double and two RBIs
Kyle Maves added two hits, two RBIs and a stolen base
Maves' stolen base marked number 65 for him, tying the program career record
Braydon Seaburg hit a two-run homer in the loss
Sean Swenson and Keegan O'Connor homered in the loss as well

The Bobcats will be back in action on Sunday, April 23, when QU wraps its road series against Canisius at noon
