BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Bobcats' ninth inning rally fell just short to the Canisius Golden Griffins, 7-6, on Friday afternoon in Buffalo, N.Y.
With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 14-20 overall on the season, while Canisius went to 14-17 on the 2023 campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats opened the scoring in the first inning via an Anthony Donofrio solo shot to get the Bobcats off and running. Canisius would come back in the bottom of the third inning hitting two solo home runs to take a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth inning.
In the top of the fourth, Keegan O'Connor came across the plate on a fielding error while McGwire Tuffy stole second base to tie the game at two. Canisius would score the games next four runs over a three-inning span.
With the Bobcats down 7-2 entering the ninth inning, Sean Swenson brought home Maves and O'Connor with a double to bring the Bobcats within three. With the bases loaded, a passed ball allows the runners to advance and Tuffy trotted across home to make it a 7-5 ballgame. With one out, Anthony Donofrio grounded into a fielder's choice to score Julian Buchman, who pinch ran for Swenson. Mueller flew out to right field to end the game as the Bobcats fell 7-6.

NEWS AND NOTES

Anthony Donofrio and Sean Swenson led the team with two RBIs apiece
Donofrio's home run was his ninth of the year, which is good for the team lead.
Keegan O'Connor led the team with two runs scored.
Donofrio, Maves, Tuffy, and Buchman had one run scored a piece.
McGwire Tuffy and Brayden Seaburg both had a stolen base.
