ABOUT THE CRUSADERS
It has been a back and forth start to the 2023 campaign, as Holy Cross has alternated loss-win over its first six contests. Most recently, they knocked off LIU by an 11-5 final on March 5 in Worcester. Wednesday's game is the fourth of seven in a row for the Crusaders at Kuzniewski Field.
Lauren Drillock leads the way in the scoring department, tallying 26 points across the first six games. She also has 28 draw controls to her name. Tori Cini has started all six games in the cage, saving 45 percent of shots on net and allowing an 11.76 goals-against average.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first matchup between the squads since March 3, 2004 when Holy Cross took home an 11-10 victory in Worcester.
CAUSING HAVOC
Led by seniors Melissa Murphy and Kat Henselder, the Bobcat defense has been creating turnovers at a leading rate to start the 2023 campaign. Quinnipiac joins Fairfield as the only team with multiple players inside the Top 8 in CTs per game, with Murphy standing fourth at 1.75 and Henselder eighth at 1.40.
Quinnipiac's defense is also fresh off Saturday's matchup, where they forced a season-high 22 cough-ups. It was the most by Bobcat opposition since March 12, 2022 when UMass Lowell had 23 against them.
