Bobcats Open MAAC Play Saturday at Home

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team enters conference play on Saturday, playing host to Marist for the first of eight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contests. It is also Lacrosse Alumni Day, as both the men's and women's programs will be hosting former Bobcats for a doubleheader at the Quinnipiac Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium.
The Bobcats enter league play at 4-4, fresh off a win against Central Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon in New Britain.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bobcats scored 13 of the last 15 goals en route to their 16-5 victory over the Blue Devils on Wednesday. Quinnipiac's offense featured nine different goalscorers, including the first tallies in the collegite careers of Mary Hage and Caroline Real.
Desiree Kleberg added a five-point day, tying for the most by a Bobcat in a game this season. Melissa Murphy aded four ground balls and three caused turnovers to anchor the defensive effort.

Marist comes into league play on a four-game slide, dropping a pair of games in South Carolina by a combined 39-17. They most recently fell at Coastal Carolina by a 21-6 final.
Kelly Trotta has 35 points in eight contests, with 23 goals and 12 assists. Kerri Gutenberger leads the squad with 25 goals on the year. Miranda Lopes has started all eight games in the cage, currently standing with a 17.35 goals-against average and .408 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
The Bobcats' win last season was their first over Marist since they entered the MAAC in 2014. Marist owns the series 7-1 since Quinnipiac joined the league and 8-3 overall, dating back to 2001.
EllaGrace Delmond potted five goals in last year's 19-7 roll in Poughkeepsie, while Maddie Deegan and Sophia Iaccino each added hat tricks.

Senior attacker Desiree Kleberg joined the 100 point club on Wednesday afternoon in a five-point outing. Standing at 101 for her career, she's totaled 62 over her last season and a half and is on pace to set new career highs across the offensive board, already hitting a new collegiate mark for assists.
