Bobcats Sweep Manhattan to Open Three-Game Homestand

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's volleyball secured the season sweep over Manhattan, as the Bobcats downed the Jaspers in straight sets inside Burt Kahn Gym on Wednesday evening.
Aryanah Diaz led the Bobcats with 14 kills, eight digs, and two service aces, while Ginevra Giovagnoni added 12 kills, six digs, three service aces, and two blocks. Damla Gunes led the match with 30 assists.
With the victory, Quinnipiac improved to 11-6 overall on the season and 7-1 in MAAC play, while Manhattan fell to 4-16 on the season and 2-7 in conference play.

SET ONE (25-13, Quinnipiac)
The two sides traded points to a 7-7 tie before Quinnipiac pushed up to a 12-9 lead early on in the first set. The Bobcats scored two of the next three points to go up 14-10 to force a Manhattan timeout. The Bobcats pulled away after the break, scoring 11 of the next 15 points to win the set, 25-13.
SET TWO (25-20)
The Jaspers jumped out to an early 10-5 lead, forcing Quinnipiac to use their first timeout. The Bobcats clawed back making it a 10-8 game out of the break. Quinnipiac took the lead in the set, 13-12, forcing Manhattan to take their first timeout. The two teams traded points out of the timeout before Quinnipiac took a 20-18 advantage forcing Manhattan to use their final timeout. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats pushed away, ultimately winning the set 25-20.
SET THREE (25-15)
The Bobcats were firing out of the gates, jumping out to an 8-5 lead. Manhattan pushed back, making it 13-10, but the Bobcats pulled away making it 17-10, forcing Manhattan to take a timeout. After the break, the Bobcats pulled away and won the set 25-15.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 14, when QU takes on Saint Peter's at 1 p.m. inside of Burt Kahn Gym.
