Eight Former Bobcats Participate in 2023 PHF All-Star Game

TORONTO, Ontario—The Premier Hockey Federation's 2023 All-Star game featured eight Quinnipiac women's ice hockey alums on Sunday, Jan. 29. Team USA, Team Canada, and Team World all had at least one former Bobcat on the roster.
Shiann Darkangelo '15, Taylor Girard '20, and goaltender Abbie Ives '20 represented Team USA. Anna Kilponen '19 represented Team World for the PHF All-Stars and Kelly Babstock '14, Corinne Schroeder '22, Kati Tabin '20 and Emma Woods '17 represented Team Canada.
Taylor Girard '20 tallied a goal against Team World and Anna Kilponen '19 notched one against Team Canada.
Corinne Schroeder, Team Canada's starting goaltender was named the 2023 PHF All-Star Most Outstanding Goalie award.

Shiann Darkangelo
Toronto Six forward, Shiann Darkangelo is entering her fifth season in the PHF and third year with the Six. Hailing from Brighton, Michigan, Darkangelo has competed in 69 total matchups in her professional career. Through the 22-23 season, she has played in 14 matchups and posted four goals and eight assists. This is Darkangelo's second All-Star game appearance.
Taylor Girard
Forward Taylor Girard, a Michigan native, plays for the Connecticut Whale and was the Whale's first overall selection in the 2021 NWHL Draft. Girard has spent the last two seasons with the Whale. In her first season she posted 11 goals and 13 assists through 20 games and tallied a goal and an assist in the playoffs of the 21-22 season. In her second season, she has 5 goals and 12 assists through 15 games. This is Girard's second time participating in the PHF All-Star Game.
Abbie Ives
Netminder Abbie Ives, from Bedford Hills, New York is entering her third season with the Whale. Through three seasons Ives has played in 39 total contests with a goals against average of 2.42, a .905 save percentage and has posted two shutouts. This is Ives second All-Star game appearance.
Anna Kilponen
Riveter's defender, Anna Kilponen a Finland native, enters her first season in the PHF and received her first nomination to the All-Star game. Through 16 matchups Kilponen has nine assists. Before joining the PHF, she was a member of the Finnish National Women's Team and prior to that she spent nine years playing professionally overseas. Kilponen made five appearances in the IIHF Women's World Championship, one appearance with the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games and most recently won a league championship in Russia's WHL.
Kelly Babstock
Hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, Riveter's defender Kelly Babstock has spent the past seven seasons in the PHF. Playing in 104 matchups, Babstock has a record of 39-52-91 in the regular season and has seen eight playoff games, scoring five goals. This is Babstock's third All-Star appearance.
Corinne Schroeder
Entering her first season with the Boston Pride, Corinne Schroeder has seen action in 15 games, posting 12 wins and a .952 SV%, 1.73 GAA, and six shutouts. This is her first appearance in the All-Star game and earned her first Most Outstanding Goalie award of her professional career.
Kati Tabin
Six defender, Kati Tabin has spent two years in the PHF, previously playing for the Whale, has played 20 career games. Tabin has posted three goals and 10 assists with the Six through 14 games. This is her first appearance in the PHF All-Star game.
Emma Woods
A forward for the Toronto Six, Woods has spent three seasons in the PHF with the Six and has seen action in 38 games and two playoff matchups. She has 14 games under her belt this season and has seven goals and eight assists. This is Woods' second appearance in the All-Star game.
