Bobcats Fall in Extras at UMass

AMHERST, Mass. – Three different Bobcats drove in a run, but it wasn't enough as the Quinnipiac baseball team fell short on the road at UMass, 4-3, in 10 innings on Tuesday afternoon on Earl Lorden Field.
With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 15-30 on the season, while the Minutemen improved to 21-24-1 on the campaign with the victory..

HOW IT HAPPENED
After two scoreless innings of play, the Bobcats struck first for a run in the third after Jared Zimbardo and Anthony Zimbardo drilled back-to-back doubles to give QU its first lead of the afternoon at 1-0. However, the Minutemen posted a score in the bottom of the fifth to knot the contest at 1-1.
The two sides would score two runs apiece in the sixth inning to remain tied at 3-3 through nine innings, forcing extras. Quinnipiac was able to load the bases in the top of the 10th inning, but would not score a run in the frame. However, UMass rallied in the bottom of the inning to score a run, walking off with the 4-3 victory.
