Back-to-Back Home Runs Lift QU over Saint Peter's in Game One

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team split a MAAC doubleheader with Saint Peter's on Monday, Aprill 11 at home. In the Bobcats' 4-3 win, Serena Fogg and Bridget Nasir hit back-to-back home runs to give Quinnipiac the lead and eventual win. In game two, the Peacocks held a 4-0 lead until the seventh inning, but the Bobcats' comeback fell short.
Quinnipiac picked up its second conference win of the season and moves to 2-6 with a 7-20 overall record. Saint Peter's moves to 12-19 overall and 1-3 in the MAAC.
Game One Recap:
Fifth Inning - The Bobcats trailed the Peacocks, 1-0, until the fifth inning. Taylor Walton hit a single to get the offense going. Alyssa Noce came in to run for Walton. Gianna Palmisano hit a double to left field to send Noce home and tied the game, 1-1. With Palmisano on base, Fogg hit a home run out to left field to give Quinnipiac the 3-1 lead. Immediately after Fogg hit, Nasir stepped up and launched a homer of her own to left field to give Quinnipiac a 4-1 lead.
The Peacocks would add two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but the Bobcats held on to win game one, 4-3.

Saint Peter's held a 4-0 lead until the seventh inning. The Bobcats finally got on the board with two runs scored, but it was not enough to complete the comeback. Saint Peter's captured game two by a score of 4-2.

- Sydney Horan came in to pitch in relief and tallied three strikeouts with one run against.
