Bobcats Take Game One vs Maine, Drop Second Game to Hartford

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac softball team completed the QU Round Robin on Sunday, March 27 with a 3-2 win over Maine and a 0-4 loss to Hartford.
Highlights vs Maine:
The Black Bears held a 2-0 lead for almost the entire game. It was not until the bottom of the sixth inning that Quinnipiac got on the board with three runs to take the lead and would eventually hold on to win.
Sixth Inning - Taylor Walton was walked to get the Bobcats on base. Alyssa Noce came in to run for Walton. After an error from the Maine center fielder, Gianna Palmisano and Noce advanced to second and third base. Serena Fogg then reached first on an error by the Black Bears and Noce scored. Palmisano then scored a run of her own off an error by the Maine second baseman. Karolyn Walker grounded out to second base, allowing Fogg to score.
The Bobcats would seal the win with a three more out in the seventh inning and defeated Maine, 3-2.
Notable Stats:
The Hawks held Quinnipiac to just five hits in both teams' second game of the day. Hartford recorded one run in the second and three runs in the third inning to earn the 4-0 shutout win.

Quinnipiac will take on Central Connecticut State on Wednesday, March 30 at 2 p.m., on the road.
