QU's Comeback Attempt Falls Just Short in MAAC Opener

RIVERDALE, NY. – Quinnipiac men's lacrosse battled back in the second half of Saturday's MAAC opener, falling just short, 9-7, at Manhattan in Riverdale.
The Bobcats outscored the Jaspers 6-4 in the second half.
John DeLucia scored three times to lead the way for QU, while Ryan Donnery chipped in with a pair of scores. Demitri George won 12 of 19 faceoffs.

- The Bobcats scored six of their seven goals in the second half, scoring three times in the third and three times in the fourth quarter.
- Demitri George won 12-of-19 faceoffs for the Bobcats. The senior also picked up seven ground balls. George has now won 58.9% of his battles in the faceoff x this year, which ranks inside the Top 10 nationally.
- John DeLucia tallied a season-high three goals. DeLucia seven times over his last three games. The junior has nine goals so far this season through six games.
- Ryan Donnery chipped in with two goals – his fourth multi-goal game of the season.
- Jake Tellers and Matt Miller each scored once.
- Total shots were 39-37 in favor of Manhattan. Quinnipiac committed 15 turnovers, while the Jaspers turned it over 10 times.
- QU went 17-of-18 on clear attempts.
- Nick DiMuccio made 11 saves, only allowing nine goals.
- The Bobcats are back in action on Saturday, March 26, hosting Monmouth to continue the MAAC schedule.
- Quinnipiac's home opener in Hamden is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM from the QU Lacrosse Stadium.
