HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac men's lacrosse battled on Saturday afternoon at the QU Lacrosse Stadium in Hamden, falling just short vs. Monmouth by the final score of 9-8.
Steven Germain scored three times to lead the way for the Bobcats, and John DeLucia added two scores of his own.
Demitri George won 12-of-19 faceoffs for QU, and Nick DiMuccio made eight saves in front of the cage.

- The Bobcats took an early 3-1 lead through the first 15 minutes of play, as Steven Germain, Ryan Donnery and Will De Palma all scored once.
- Monmouth then scored three of the next four goals to tie things headed into halftime.
- The Hawks scored three times to begin the second half, making it 7-4.
- Quinnipiac would bouce back, however, scoring four straight times. John DeLucia's goal with 13:15 left in the fourth quarter gave the Bobcats the 8-7 lead.
- Monmouth would score the final two goals of the contest, taking the close MAAC battle in Hamden.
- Steven Germain scored three more times to pace QU's offense. The sophomore now has 15 goals and 6 assists for 21 total points. He has 13 goals over QU's last five games.
- John DeLucia chipped in with a pair of goals, stretching his total to 10 for the season.
- Ryan Donnery scored once and assisted on one goal, while Dylan Donnery added two assists.
- Evan Perry and Will De Palma each scored once. DePalma's goal came with just two seconds left in the first quarter, heaving the ball the entire length of the field to beat the clock.
- Demitri George went 12-of-19 in the face-off x. He's won 59.3% of his battles in the face-off circle so far this season.
- The Bobcats are back in action on Saturday, April 2, hosting Marist to continue the MAAC schedule.
- The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU, starting at 10:00 AM.
