COOKVILLE, Tenn. - The Bobcats split action on Monday, March 14 with a 3-2 win against Bellarmine and a 9-0 loss to Indiana State. Senior Bridget Nasir and first-year Brooke Hilliard lifted the Bobcats over the Bellarmine Knights with a double and walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure a 3-2 win. First-year Sydney Horan pitched a complete game with a season-high 11 strikeouts, earning her second win of the season.

Quinnipiac moves to 2-7 on the season. The Bobcats will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to take on Lipscomb on Wednesday, March 16.

Game One vs Bellarmine Highlights:
Third Inning – The Bobcats got the scoring started in the bottom of the third inning. Cy Gonzalez hit a bunt to advance to first base. Bridget Nasir doubled to left field, and Gonzalez scored, giving Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead. Brooke Hilliard steppd up and hit a single through the left side, allowing Nasir to advance to home.

The Knights tied the game in the top of the sixth inning, taking the score to 2-2.

Seventh Inning – With the game still tied, Nasir hit a single to center field. Hilliard then hit a double down the left field line, allowing Nasir to score the walk-off run and give Quinnipiac the 3-2 win.

Notable Stats:

Nasir and Hilliard continued their solid play at bat, recording two runs with five hits and three RBIs between them. Nasir tallied her third double in three games.
Sydney Horan pitched a complete game through seven innings with a season-high 11 strikeouts. She is 2-1 on the season, earning her second win today against the Knights.

Game Two vs Indiana State:
The Indiana State Sycamores recorded runs in the second, third and fifth innings to secure a 9-0 win over the Bobcats. Indiana State's Lexi Benko recorded five strikeouts through five innings pitched and pitched a no-hitter against the Bobcats.

Notable Stats:

Jaclyn Gonzalez pitched 4.1 innings, recording two strikeouts.
