Skalstad, Delmond Combine for Nine Goals in Victory
Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team came out on top against the Umass-Lowell River Hawks by a score of 15-11, on Saturday afternoon. First year Ellagrace Delmond recorded five goals and four draw controls to lead the way for the Bobcats. Junior goalkeeper Kat Henselder made six saves for the Bobcats in the victory.
Senior attack Sydney Skalstad recorded four goals on the afternoon to push her season total to 13. In total, six Bobcats found the back of the net in the victory.
Junior Emily Feeney led the way with two assists to help the Bobcats secure their fourth non-conference victory of the year.

GAME SUMMARY
- Maddie Deegan kicked off the scoring with her sixth goal of the year just 2:42 into the game.
- Umass-Lowell responded with a goal from the hands of Jade Catlin to tie the game at one.
- Desiree Kleberg was awarded a free position attempt with 7:26 left in the first quarter and fired one into the back of the net to regain the lead, 2-1.
- With 3:12 left in the first quarter, Amy Nicoloff found Sydney Skalstad, who ripped the shot home for her 10th goal of the year and first of the game.
- The Bobcats held the 3-1 advantage at the end of the first 15 minutes.
- The River Hawks started the second quarter quickly with Izzy Liquori scoring to make it a 3-2 game just 30 seconds into the second quarter.
- Maddie Deegan responded on the man-up with a free position goal of her own to stretch the lead back to two.
- The River Hawks and the Bobcats would exchange goals 34 seconds apart. Grace Hansen tallied the River Hawks goal and Sydney Skalstad scored again to make it a 5-3 game.
- Emily Stratton of Umass-Lowell made it a one goal game 25 seconds after Skalstad's tally to make it a 5-4 game.
- With just one second left on the clock in the second quarter, Ellagrace Delmond tallied her ninth goal of the year to push the lead to two at the end of the half.
- The Bobcats entered the locker room at the break with a 6-4 lead.
- Quinnipiac started the second half on fire, scoring three goals in the quarter's first seven minutes. Maddie Noel, Sydney Skalstad, and Sophia Iaccino pushed the lead to 9-4.
- The River Hawks would respond with a goal of their own from Izzy Liquori to make it a four goal game.
- With 5:10 left in the third quarter, Ellagrace Delmond ripped her second goal of the game on the man-up. The Bobcats had the 10-5 advantage with five minutes to go in the third quarter.

- On the free position attempt, Delmond scored her third goal of the game, second of the quarter, to extend the lead back to five.
- With 1:11 left in the quarter, Delmond scored again for her fourth goal of the game to give the Bobcats their biggest lead of the day, 12-6.
- Jade Catlin rounded out the scoring for the third quarter and made it a 12-7 game heading into the final 15 minutes.
- Molly Shaw started a Umass-Lowell comeback scoring 28 seconds into the final quarter. The Bobcats were still in the lead, 12-8.
- Desiree Kleberg answered right back to push the lead back up to six 40 seconds later.
- The back-and-forth scoring continued as Jade Catlin scored again with just over 12 minutes left in the game.
- The leading scorers of the game for Quinnipiac, Ellagrace Delmond and Sydney Skalstad, scored about two minutes apart to give the Bobcats a 15-9 lead with 8:31 to go.
- Jade Catlin scored two more goals to make it a 15-11 game with 4:59 left and attempted to make a River Hawks comeback.
- The Bobcats defense stepped up big in the final minutes as they held on for the 15-11 victory.
- The Bobcats outshot the River Hawks 35-21 and 19-17 for shots on goal.
- Both teams were very efficient clearing their defensive zones as Quinnipiac went 23-25 on clears and Umass-Lowell went 20-21.
- The Bobcats caused 13 River Hawk turnovers.
- The Bobcats controlled 12 draws compared to the River Hawks' 17.
- The Bobcats will travel to Vestal, NY to take on the Binghamton Bearcats on Saturday, March 19th at 1 PM.
