Goalkeeper Makes 17 Saves, Bobcats Erase Seven-Goal Deficit

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's lacrosse erased a seven-goal deficit in the second half, but fell just short to Yale by a score of 13-12, on Tuesday afternoon. Junior Emily Feeney recorded a hat trick and picked up a ground ball. Junior goalkeeper Kat Henselder made 17 saves for the Bobcats.

Senior attack Sydney Skalstad recorded 2 goals on the afternoon to push her season total to 6. In total, six Bobcats found the back of the net in the defeat.

Junior Desiree Kleberg scored two goals on six shots, her third straight game multi-goal outing.

GAME SUMMARY

The Bulldogs started the scoring early when Taylor Lane found the back of the net just under 2 minutes into the game.
Yale tallied two more goals to stretch the lead to three before Emily Feeney opened the scoring for the Bobcats on the advantage.
The Bulldogs had the 3-1 lead heading into the second quarter.
Yale started the scoring early once again in the second when Bri Carrasquillo extended the lead to 3 just 38 seconds into the second quarter.
Yale would add one more to make it 5-2 before Desiree Kleberg found the back of the cage for her first of the game.
Yale's Sophie Straka and Quinnipiac's Sophia Iaccino traded goals to keep the distance at 3.
Olivia Market gave the Bulldogs the 7-3 advantage at the half.
Yale started the third quarter scoring two goals just 51 seconds apart and extended the lead to 9-3.
Emily Feeney scored her second goal of the game to bring the deficit back down to 5.
Yale's Olivia Market tallied goals 2 minutes apart to give Yale their biggest lead of the game, 11-4.
The Bobcats would respond with 3 goals of their own from Delmond, Spencer, and Kleberg to make it an 11-7 game.
Market's sixth goal of the game would extend the Bulldogs' lead back to 5 before Sophie Spencer tallied her second goal of the game.
Yale held the 12-8 lead heading into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter began with a goal from EllaGrace Delmond to cut down the lead to three.
Sydney Skalstad and Emily Feeney recorded goals 1:22 apart to cut the lead to 1.
With her second goal of the quarter, Skalstad tied the game up for the Bobcats. The game was 12-12 with 5:03 to go.
With 3:38 left in regulation time, Olivia Market found the back of the net for the seventh time to give Yale the victory.

Both teams were very efficient clearing their defensive zones as Quinnipiac went 13-20 on clears and Yale went 14-17.
