Thomas Leads Bobcats in 4-1 Win over Sacred Heart

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Quinnipiac softball team earned its first win of the season in a 4-1 road victory at Sacred Heart on Wednesday afternoon. Kayla Thomas led the team with her second home run of the season, and first-year Sydney Horan picked up her first collegiate win with a complete game in the circle and tallied five strikeouts.
The Bobcats move to 1-3 on the season and earned the team's 26th all-time win against the Pioneers.
Highlights:
First Inning – The Bobcats jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning with help from a home run by sophomore Kayla Thomas. Serena Fogg and Lala Pascual also added runs of their own in the first inning. Pascual scored on a passed ball, and Fogg was driven in by a single from Taylor Walton.
Fourth Inning – Junior Cy Gonzalez got the inning started with a triple to left field. First-year Brooke Hilliard hit an RBI double to center to send Gonzalez home, and the Bobcats took a 4-1 lead.
The Bobcats would hold on to the 4-1 lead and earn the team's first win of the season.

Quinnipiac will be back in action this weekend at Sacred Heart pending the weather.
