HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac field hockey returns to action this weekend, as the Bobcats wrap its regular season slate with two home matches at the QU Field Hockey Stadium, starting with Friday's match against BIG EAST foe Providence (3 p.m) and concluding with Sunday's matinee with Sacred Heart (12 p.m.).
THE MATCHUP: vs. Providence
- Friday's match marks the 11th ever matchup between the two programs
- Providence is 8-2 all-time in 10 contests against the Bobcats
- The last time the two sides faced off, Providence came away with a 5-2 win over QU in Providence on Oct. 29, 2021
- Michaela Grajales and Julianna Cappello contributed a goal apiece in the contest
- The Friars enter the contest at 5-11 overall and 2-4 in BIG EAST matches
- Providence is 2-6 in road games this season
- Ally DeCoste leads the Friars in goals (5), assists (4) and points (14) on the season
- Sunday's contest against the Pioneers marks 24th ever contest between the two programs
- QU holds a 14-9 record all-time against Sacred Heart
