
Bobcats Close Strong and Take Second Place at Navy Fall Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Quinnipiac women's golf took second place out of 15 teams at the Navy Fall Invitational held at the Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis on Sunday. The Bobcats saw two golfers finish within the top-five as Kaylee Sakoda finished in third and Fuge Zhang tied for fourth.
QU ended the tournament in second place among 15 teams after shooting 621 (+45) for the event. Hosts Navy took home first place after carding 616 (+40), just five strokes ahead of Quinnipiac.
The Bobcats had two golfers finish within the top-five after, as Sakoda took third place and Zhang snagged fourth. Sakoda shot a 79 (+8) in the final round to close the event at 150 (+6). Zhang carded a 75 (+3) on the final day to climb from 10th to fourth, finishing at 151 (+7).
Leeyen Peralta tied for 21st after shooting 157 (+13) after the two-day event. Aimee Uchida tied for 37th after carding a 163 (+19). Emily Luu tied for 63rd after shooting a 170 (+26). Sandhya Vaikuntam tied for 56th after competing as an individual. Vaikuntam shot 166 (+22).
The Bobcats will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 10, when they begin play at the Bobcat Invitational.
