Bobcats Tied For Second After Day One at Navy Fall Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Quinnipiac women's golf sits tied in second place out of 15 teams after day one at the Navy Fall Invitational held at the Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis on Saturday.
QU ended the first day of the tournament tied for second place among 15 teams after shooting 305 (+17) after the opening round of the invitational. Hosts Navy leads after day one after carding 301 (+13), just two four strokes ahead of Quinnipiac and LIU.
The Bobcats have two golfers placed within the top-10 after the first round, as Kaylee Sakoda sits in second place, while Fuge Zhang is tied for 10th. Sakoda shot a 71 (-1) in the opening round, while Zhang carded a 76 (+4).
Leeyen Peralta and Aimee Uchida are tied for 29th after shooting a 79 (+7). Emily Luu rounded out Quinnipiac's grouping, tying for 73rd after shooting an 86 (+14). Sandhya Vaikuntam made her Bobcat debut and tied for 43rd after competing as an individual. Vaikuntam shot an 81 (+9) for the day.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Sunday, Oct.2, when they close play at the Navy Invitational.
