NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac track & field team took second place at the 2021 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday, May 9. The Monmouth Hawks won the championship with 204.5 team points, and Quinnipiac finished right behind in second with 163 team points. First-year Hayden Robinson and junior Symone Foster both tallied first place finishes in the 200m dash and 100m hurdles, respectively, to lead the Bobcats on Day Two. Robinson was also named the 2021 Rookie of the Meet.

- First-year Hayden Robinson had a solid day two of the MAAC Championships with a first-place finish in the 200m dash, tallying a new personal best and new MAAC best time of 24.83. She also finished in fifth place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.59.
- Junior Symone Foster took first place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.45. Junior Kalli'ana Botelho was right behind her in second place with a time of 14.95. Sophomore Camille Sweet finished in eighth place (16.78).
- Graduate student Meaghan Scullin finished in second place in the 400m dash with a time of 57.29. First-year Alyssa Romagnoli finished in sixth (59.32), and senior Melissa Solomon took eighth place (1:02.01).
- Junior Caitlyn Halloran finished in second place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.25, which is a season-best time. Foster finished in fifth place with a time of 1:06.98
- Senior Britney Del Mundo tallied a seventh place finish in the 100m dash (12.72).
- Junior Aisha Gay finished in sixth place in the 200m dash with a time of 26.18.
- Senior Brooke Hagen led the Bobcats in the 800m, finishing in sixth place (2:16.45). Junior Emily Young finished in seventh (2:20.92), and first-year Jada Dennis tallied a time of 2:23.42 in eight place.
- In the 1500m finals, junior Mia Pestle led the team with a fourth place finish and season-best time (4:38.84). Junior Shannon Goria took 10th place (4:47.26).
- First-year Liv DiStefano recorded a time of 17:17.48 in the 5000m, which is a new season-best for the rookie. First-year Alessandra Zaffina tallied a time of 17:38.55 in ninth place in the same event.
- The relay team of Pestle, Hagen, Young and Goria placed second in the 4x800m relay (9:20.93).
- In the 4x400m relay, Scullin, Romagnoli, Del Mundo and sophomore Eileen Donovan placed second with a time of 3:57.32.
- The Bobcats 4x100m relay team of Foster, Robinson, Gay and Del Mundo took third place with a time of 48.92.
- Del Mundo recorded a leap of 11.46m in the triple jump, taking second place. Sweet finished in fifth place with a 10.76m jump. Sophomore Zekiah Lewis finished in eight (10.67m).
- Botelho continued her strong performance with a third place finish in the high jump (1.55m). First-year Grace Davis placed fifth with a 1.50m jump.
- Graduate student Mikah Maples took 10th in the shot put (12.08m). Maples also finished fourth in the discus throw (42.85m).
- The Bobcats will look towards competition at the New England Championships on May 13-14 in New Britain, Conn.
