LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Quinnipiac women's outdoor track and field completed Day 1 of the 2021 MAAC Championships on Saturday, May 8 at Michael P. Brady Track & Field Complex.
First-year Alessandra Zaffina won the 3000M Steeplechase for the Bobcats, highlighting QU's performers.

- Kelsey Coughlin put the first points on the board for Quinnipiac, earning 4.5 points in a fourth-place finish in Pole Vault (3.10m).
- First-year Alessandra Zaffina won the 3000M Steeplechase with a 10:43.30 time to pick up 10 points for the Bobcats, and Amanda Carlson placed seventh (12:00.04) to earn two points.
- Mikah Maples finished third in the Javelin Throw event for the Bobcats (41.02M) for six total points, and Amanda Minervino (34.44M) and Laura Thomas (31.95M) also placed in the Top 10.
- Symone Foster placed first among the qualifiers in 100M Hurdles, finishing with a time of 14:44. Kalli'ana Botelho placed second (14:83), and Camille Sweet recorded the eighth-best time (16:40).
- Britney Del Mundo recorded the seventh-best time (12:60) in the 100M Dash preliminaries, and Hayden Robinson placed eighth (12.62).
- A pair of Bobcats will move on to Sunday after qualifying in the 200M Dash. Hayden Robinson leads the pack with a league-best 24:73 time on Saturday, while Aisha Gay placed sixth (25:81).
- Symone Foster (third place, 1:06.64) and Caitlyn Halloran (5th place, 1:06.79) both qualified in 400M Hurdles, and will move on to the final day on Sunday.
- QU earned two of the top three times, and three of the top eight on Saturday in the 400M Dash. Meaghan Scullin recorded the best time (58.13), Alyssa Romagnoli had the third-best time (59.35) and Melissa Solomon finished eighth to qualify (100.23).
- Three Bobcats are moving on to the final day at the 800M event. Emily Young placed fourth (2:17.82), Brooke Hagen finished sixth (2:16.92), and Jada Dennis recorded the eighth best time (2:18.88).
- Shannon Goria is moving on to Sunday, recording a fourth place finish (4:47.09) in the 1500M Run. Mia Pestle finished seventh (4:47.16) to qualify for Sunday.
