
Bobcats Split with Siena on Senior Day

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac softball team split the Sunday doubleheader with Siena, earning a 5-3 victory in game two and dropping the first game, 2-4. First-year Tori McGraw picked up her fifth win of the season in the circle in game two. The Bobcats move to 8-26 on the season, and the Saints improved to 19-13.
Quinnipiac also celebrated Senior Day with a pregame ceremony honoring senior Brighid Douglas.
Highlights Game 1 (L, 2-4):
Second Inning – The Bobcats got on the board first with on run in the second inning. First-year Gianna Palmisano doubled down the left field line. After first-year Cy Gonzalez hit a ground out to second, Palmisano advanced to third. First-year Julia Woeste hit a single to right field, and Palmisano scored to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
Sixth Inning – Sophomore Katherine Rodriguez got the inning started with a single down the right field line. Rodriguez later scored off an RBI-single by first-year Kayla Thomas.
The Saints would hold on to the 4-2 lead and win the opening game of the day.

Highlights Game 2 (W, 5-3):
Second Inning - The Bobcats exploded in the second inning with four runs. Woeste and Nasir hit back-to-back singles to open the inning. Junior Hannah Davis hit a double to center field, allowing Woeste and Nasir to score. With first-year Ela Henry on base, Rodriguez was hit by a pitch and moved to first. Thomas hit a single through the left side, moving Henry and Rodriguez up a base. With the bases loaded, Palmisano hit a single up the middle, and Henry scored. Senior Brighid Douglas came up to bat and was walked with the bases loaded, sending Rodriguez home.
Fifth Inning – The Bobcats added one more run while leading 4-2. Palmisano was walked and then stole second. Douglas hit a single to center, allowing Palmisano to score.
Quinnipiac would hold the 5-2 lead and earn the victory in game two.
Notable Stats:
Quinnipiac will complete the regular season on Wednesday, May 5 at home against Fairfield.
