Bobcats Host Saints for Four-Game Series

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac softball team will return home to host the Siena Saints for a four-game series Saturday and Sunday, May 1-2. Quinnipiac is coming off a doubleheader at Fairfield; the Stags took both games by a score of 8-4. The Bobcats will look to get back on track this weekend as the Saints come to town.
Game one will start at 12 p.m. on Saturday, and then the teams will come back for another doubleheader on Sunday with a start time of 10 a.m., which has been changed from the original start time.

Last Time Out
Quinnipiac traveled to Fairfield on Wednesday, April 28 for a mid-week doubleheader. The Stags took both games by a score of 8-4. Sophomore Katherine Rodriguez went 4-7 on the day with two runs and one RBI. Seniors Brighid Douglas and Kayla Jensen each added a run of their own, and Douglas tallied her eighth double of the season. First-years Tori McGraw and Julia Woeste split game one, each pitching three innings, and Woeste came in to relieve McGraw in game two, pitching four innings.
Scouting Siena
The Saints hold a 16-12 overall record, sitting in the sixth spot in the MAAC standings. Siena is coming off a 1-1 split with Marist on April 28, taking game two by a score of 4-3 in nine innings. Isabelle DeChiaro leads the Saints on offense with a .373 batting average, 17 runs, 31 hits, six doubles, three home runs and 17 RBIs. The Saints' pitching staff of four all have recorded an ERA at or below 3.15. Maddie McMahon and Allison Speshyock are 6-3 on the year; McMahon has recorded 52 strikeouts this season.

The Bobcats hold the all-time series advantage against the Saints with a 16-10 overall record. Quinnipiac's last win against Siena came on April 21, 2018 in a 7-1 win, which was the team's largest margin of victory against Siena.

Rodriguez and first-year Kayla Thomas continue their strong play for the Bobcats. Rodriguez is batting .353 with 19 runs, 36 hits, eight doubles, one triple, two homeruns and 18 RBIs. Her 36 runs this season are ranked second in the conference behind Monmouth's Katie Harrington. Her run, triple, double and RBI totals are all ranked in the top ten in the MAAC.
