Track & Field Takes Second at Rider

RESULTS
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Quinnipiac outdoor track & field team competed at the Rider Five-Way Meet on Saturday, April 3 and took second overall out of five teams. Sacred Heart took first with 194 points, followed by Quinnipiac with 189 points in second. Rider, Siena and Fairleigh Dickinson made up the last three team placements.
The Bobcats had a stellar day in New Jersey with six first-place finishes across the board. Junior Kalli'ana Botelho and graduate student Mikah Maples led the Bobcats with numerous first and second place finishes in their events.
Individual Results - Track

Individual Results - Track
- Junior Kalli'ana Botelho won the 200m dash with a time of 26.26. Junior Aisha Gay was right behind Botelho in second (26.70). Senior Britney Del Mundo took third place to complete the Bobcat sweep (26.91). Senior Melissa Solomon placed fifth (27.03).
- Junior Caitlyn Halloran took first place in the 400m hurdles (1:07.90).
- In the 3000m Steeplechase, first-year Alessandra Zaffina finished in first with a time of 11:28.95. Junior Madeleine Shellard finished in fifth in the same event (12:33.99).
- First-year Camille Sweet took sixth in the 100m hurdles (16.99).
- Gay led the Bobcats in the 400m dash (1:00.46) in fourth place. First-year Alyssa Romagnoli tallied a sixth place finish (1:00.99), followed by sophomore Eileen Donovan in ninth (1:01.97) and Karissa Laramie in 10th (1:02.28).
- In the 800m, senior Brooke Hagen recorded a time of 2:19.12 in second place, and sophomore Cassidy Phillips finished in eighth (2:33.78).
- The Bobcats had nine distance runners compete in the 1500m. The top three finishers were junior Emily Young in third (4:44.07), junior Mia Pestle in fourth (4:45.12) and junior Amanda Carlson in fifth (4:48.05).
- In the 5000m, junior Shannon Goria finished in fifth (17:59.58), and first-year Corinne Barney took ninth place (18:37.05).
- Mikah Maples took first place in the discus throw with a 42.12m mark and second in the shot put (12.33m)
- Botelho earned her second win of the day in the high jump (1.60m). First-year Grace Davis came in fourth (1.50m).
- Del Mundo won the triple jump with a 11.51m mark. Sweet finished in third (10.57m) and David finished in sixth (9.96m).
- Maples also came in second place in the javelin (38.29m), with Amanda Minervino following in sixth place (33.46m).
- Sweet led the team in the long jump with a 5.42m mark. Botelho took fourth with a 5.39m jump.
- The Bobcats also won the 4x100m (49.91) and 4x400m (4:02.57) relays.
- The Bobcats are scheduled to compete at UMass on Friday, April 9.
